Clair Whiteleather, in Williamsburg after an illness of 13 years. He was born in Williamsburg Dec. 5, 1869, a son of Amos and Susannah (Hughes) Whiteleather. He was married Dec. 25, 1904, to Clara M. Deters at the Methodist manse at Williamsburg by Rev. C. C. Snavely. Mrs. Whiteleather died April 23, 949. Surviving are two sons, William Howard Whiteleather of Chicago and D. Clair Whiteleather of Williamsburg; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Gunnett of Front Royal, Va. Mr. Whiteleather was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie of Williamsburg and was a retired employe of the Williamsburg plant of the West Virginia Pulp & Paper company. Friends will be received at the Friedland funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, August 4, 1951
