They were employed by John Klink, a mason, and after the day's work, proceeded to the creek to bathe. Rader ventured too far, and being unable to get out, Whitmer went to his assistance, when the struggling man caught hold of him, and both were drowned. Whitmer leaves a wife and one child. Rader was a German, and had only been in this country a few weeks. The remains of Whitmer were brought to this place, on Sunday, and the body of Rader was conveyed to his friends on the same day. Both were interred on Monday. This is a sad accident, and should be a warning to bathers, not to go beyond their depth, unless they are good swimmers.
