James Buchanan Wighaman, of Logan avenue and Fifteenth street, in this place, died at his home yesterday morning at 1.20 o'clock, of paralysis of the brain, of which he had been afflicted for the past three years. The deceased was a son of Foster and Rebecca Wighaman and was born at Hollidaysburg, January 6, 1857, and at death was aged 42 years, 9 months and 16 days. He had been a resident of Tyrone for several years and by occupation a house and sign painter, which business he diligently followed until he was compelled to relinquish owing to failing health. In politics he was an active, stalwart republican, and socially a genial, whole-souled fellow; a devoted husband and kind and loving father. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Wighaman, and four children, viz.: Ima, Helen, Edmund and Robert Wighaman, all at home. His mother, Mrs. Rebecca Wighaman, of Tyrone, also survives, and the following brothers and sisters: Martin F. Wighaman, Mrs. Emma R., wife of Charles R. Reese; Mrs. Rachel, wife of Samuel Clarence Templeton, all of Tyrone; Andrew J. Wighaman, of Winder, Pa.; Mrs. Annie, wife of William Reese, of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Margaret Reed, of Greenwood Furnace, Huntingdon county, and a half brother, John H. Wighaman, of Hollidaysburg. Funeral services will be held at his late home to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, to be conducted by Rev. Albert J. Weisley, assisted by Rev. W. M. Frysinger, D.D. Interment in Tyrone cemetery.
