OBITUARY Miss Emily Williams Miss Emily Williams, a former well known resident of Hollidaysburg, died on Monday last at her home in Bedford of a complication of diseases. Miss Williams was born at Hollidaysburg and was a daughter of Lewis and Lydia Williams, her father being a prominent lawyer of Hollidaysburg. She was aged about 76 years and spent nearly all her life at the old Williams homestead on Walnut street, now the residence of Charles Beswick. For the past ten years she had made her home at Bedford with her sister, Mrs. J. F. Mickel. Miss Williams was a woman of refinement and education, having attended the Hollidaysburg public schools and Birmingham seminary. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a good Christian woman who by reason of her fine qualities, made many friends, all of whom will learn of her death with the deepest regret. She is survived only by one sister, Mrs. Mickel, of Bedford. The remains arrived here yesterday and were taken to the undertaking rooms of Thomas B. McFarland, the services having been held at Bedford. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, February 1, 1918, page 8
