Williams, 83, of RD 5 Box 48, Tyrone, PA died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 2:15 a.m. at the Altoona Hospital. He was born June 23, 1920 in Altoona to the late David B. and Philis C. (Hitchney) Williams. He married Ida C. Stebbins, who died September 3, 1998. He was a member of Faith Alliance Church, Fuoss Mills. He retired in 1976 as a gang boss from Penn Central R.R. after 40 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and collecting antiques. He was a charter member of the Penn Western Racing Association. He and his brother, Burton, built and drove their own race car at local tracks. He previously owned and operated a used tire recycling business in Tyrone with his son, Jerry. He was a life-time member of the Blair County Antique Auto Club, member of the Allegheny Mountain Campers, member of the Watch FOB, lifetime member of Tyrone Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company and lifetime member of Pennsylvania Fire Police of Tyrone and Blair County Fire Police. Surviving are two daughters: Phyllis Smith and husband, Charles, of Erie and Deborah A. of Tyrone; a son Gerald M. of Tyrone; a foster son, Thomas Miller in Florida; 10 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; three sisters: Judy Lumadue of Buffalo, NY, Betty Lumadue of Philipsburg and Irene Knepp of Edinburg; and three brothers: Glenn of Olanta, Traczyk of Wallaceton and Burton in Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, W. Jean Banks. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, and 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 5, at Vincent J. Good Funeral Parlor, Bellwood. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, March 5, at the funeral parlor by the Rev. Richard A. Wood Jr. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
