James Williamson, a widely known resident of Hollidaysburg, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. I. Gunnett, of 404 Eleventh street, last evening at 9 o'clock. Death was due to Bright's disease from which he had suffered for the past six years. He had been bedfast for the past week. Mr. Williamson was born in Hollidaysburg on March 12, 1854, and had spent his entire life there until last fall, when he came to this city to reside with his daughter, at whose home he died. He was married on January 8, 1873, and was employed in the iron works at the county capital for many years. Later he conducted a livery stable. He was the father of eleven children, three of whom are deceased. His wife survives with these children: Mrs. Alfred Frederick, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. B. I. Gunnett, Mrs. C. W. Pope, both of this city; Frank, of California; G. L., R. C. and I. W. Williamson, all of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Miller, of Altoona. Fourteen grandchildren also survive. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Altoona. Funeral arrangements are not completed and will be announced later.
