Wilson, 90, of 351 Madison Avenue, Tyrone, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 12:07 a.m. at the Tyrone Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1912 in Tyrone, a daughter of Edward W. and Margaret (Haverstein) Herlt. In 1944, in Kansas, she married Robert L. Wilson. He died in World War II in 1944 and is buried in France. Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth A. Traxler and husband Duane of Tyrone, a grandson David Traxler and wife Kris of Nebraska, four great- grandchildren and two nieces, Ann Hagg of Milesburg and Jane Taylor of Aston. She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and had attended West Chester State College and Penn State University. She taught school in Snyder Township for 10 years and was a fourth grade teacher at St. Matthew School for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday May 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Church with Father Joseph T. Orr, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library Fund, 1019 Logan Avenue, Tyrone, Pa. 16686 or to the St. Matthew Restoration Fund, 406 West 11th Street, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
