Deputy Coroner C. C. Rothrock, this city, decided that death was due to natural causes, after he made an investigation. The body was removed by Funeral Director Stevens and will be taken to the Wilt home today. George Pine, night clerk at the Altamont, visited Mr. Wilt's room a few minutes after 9 o'clock. The body was lying on the bed and the clerk futilely endeavored to rouse the man. A physician was called and he stated death had occurred several hours previously. The deputy coroner stated an inquest was unnecessary. At midnight, Sunday, Wilt was brought to the hotel by two young men in a taxicab. He sat in the lobby a short time and complained of being ill. He was assisted to bed and a physician summoned later. His condition was not believed to be serious. When he failed to appear last evening, the clerk became alarmed and visited the room. Joseph Wilt was one of the best known hotel men in Blair and Cambria counties. Before locating at Williamsburg, he conducted a hostelry at Blandburg. He was about 60 years old and is survived by his wife, a son, Private Lloyd Wilt, in France, and several other relatives.
