ANNIE MAE HORNAUER Of 113 Main St., Gallitzin, died at 11.45 p. m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital. She was born in Bennington March 20, 1878, a daughter of Isaac and Sara (Brubaker) Wilt. Her husband, Frank Hornauer, died April 9, 1955 and a son Oscar, in 1960. Surviving are five children, Francis of Vinco, Russell and Mrs. Margaret Buckrup of Gallitzin, George of State College and William of Detroit; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two brothers, Eneas and Norman of Altoona. Mrs. Hornauer was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Gallitzin, of the United Church Women and the Rebekahs of Cresson. Friends will be received at the Conrad-Lenz Funeral Home, Gallitzin, after 7 p.m. today. Altoona Mirror, May 29, 1962 ________ ENAMEL* [EMANUEL] G. WILT Died Sunday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martha Duganne of Newry. He was born in Carson valley Nov. 9, 1867, a son of Isaac and Sadie (Brubaker) Wilt. He married Emma C. Brubaker of Duncansville, R. D., in 1889. She died in 1921. Mr. Wilt had been ill for the past ten years. Surviving are four children, Harry E. and Percy A. of Hollidaysburg, Augustus H. of Altoona and Mrs. Martha Duganne of Newry; 13 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren and one was educated in the public schools and was a member of Broad Avenue Methodist church, Altoona. Friends will be received at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Duganne, at Newry after 7 o'clock this evening. [*The typo was in the original text.] Altoona Mirror, November 27, 1950 ________ BRIEF ILLNESS IS FATAL TO JUSTICE WILT Lawrence Herbert Wilt, aged 60, well known justice of the peace in Allegheny township, died at his home on Burns avenue, Canan Station, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a heart ailment after a week's illness. Mr. Wilt had served as justice of the peace in the township for the past 14 years and also had been forest inspector for the district for some years. In addition he had served as registration assessor for the township for several terms. He was born in Carson Valley on July 24, 1887, a son of Alexander W. and Elizabeth (Davis) Wilt, and on Feb. 21, 1906, was married to Miss Sadie E. Burkhart in Duncansville by the late Rev. Levi Benner. Surviving are his wife, four daughters and four sons, Mrs. R. O. Snyder of Altoona, Mrs. Edward Beers of Roaring Spring,, Mrs. Harold Eckard, Mrs. Ellis Plowman, Ira L:. and Emmett H. Wilt, all of Canan Station; Owen D. of Altoona and Russell L. Wilt of Pittsburgh. One son, Homer I. Wilt is deceased. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six sisters, Mrs. Annie Mock, Mrs. Charles Lafferty, and Mrs. Russell Rhine, all of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Gertrude Clark of Brookes Mills, Mrs. Riley Osborne of Cross Keys and Mrs. Martin Albright of Altoona. Mr. Wilt was a member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, July 7, 1948 ________ MELVIN H. "SKIP" WILT Melvin H. "Skip" Wilt, 84, Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of 1116 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, died Friday morning, Dec. 18, 1998, at the home, following an extended illness. He was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Dry Run, Duncansville RD, the son of the late Peter and Ida (Mash) Wilt. He married Dorothy F. Kettering Feb. 23, 1946, at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church. She died July 26, 1988. Mr. Wilt was a member of the Duncansville Evangelical Church. He retired from the layout table of the Sam Rae Shops of Conrail in 1978. Mr. Wilt was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant with the second Armored Division. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a race car driver. Mr. Wilt was a member of the Portage Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Hollidaysburg, and a life member of the Duncansville Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. Surviving are three sons: Robert L., David C. and Thomas L., all of Duncansville; five sisters: Hazel Yeckley and Alberta Reilly, both of Duncansville, Eva Mitchell of the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, Helen Perry of Hollidaysburg and Olive Larson of Altoona; nine grandchildren; and a great- granddaughter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Liebegott- Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville. WILT - Services for Melvin H. "Skip" Wilt will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville, by the Rev. Larry H. Louder. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville. Preceded in death by three brothers: Stan, Mac, and Irvin. He was born in Carson Valley July 22, 1877, a son of Alexander and Anna (Brubaker) Wilt, and married Ida Mash Oct. 16, 1900, in Hollidaysburg. Surviving are his wife, eight children, Mrs. Hazel Yeckley, Mrs. Eva Mitchel, Mrs. Alberta Rollins, Stanford K., Melvin H., and Arthur M., all of Duncansville; Mrs. Olive Lawson of Altoona of Altoona and Mrs. Helen Perry of Hollidaysburg RD; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Burkheart of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Elsie Lingenfelter of Altoona.
