Wineland, a well known resident of this community, died on Monday morning at 3 o'clock, at his home on Piney Creek. Death was due to a complication of diseases from which he had been a sufferer for the past twelve years, and which was brought on by a tumorous growth on the spine. He was the son of William L., deceased, and Susannah Wineland, and was born near Curryville, October 20, 1877. He is survived by his mother and his wife, who was formerly Miss Mary Detweiler, and these children: Legian C., Dorothy K., Alverda, Lovenia, Meredith and Gertrude. He is also survived by three brothers and six sisters: James B. and Ira B., of this place, and David B. of Roaring Spring; Mrs. George Stayer of Curryville, Mrs. Jerry Hoover of Henrietta, Mrs. Nelson Guyer of Woodbury, Mrs. Calvin Baker and Mrs. Abner Dilling of Piney Creek, and Miss Sophia Wineland, who resides at home with her mother at this place. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, at the Mennonite church south of town, the services being in charge of Rev. F. R. Zook. Interment made in Fairview cemetery.
