He was born in Tyrone Feb. 1, 1896, a son of Clarence B. and Mabel (Templeton) Wingate, and Oct. 15, 1924, married Alma M. Meehan at Tyrone. Surviving are his wife and a brother, Kenneth T. of Warriors Mark, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Tyrone First Presbyterian Church, B.P.O.E. 212 of Tyrone, a former borough councilman and a veteran of World War I, having served in France with the Army's 50th Aero Squadron. Mr. Wingate was a machinist of the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co. at Tyrone, retiring in 1960 after 40 years of service.
