Deceased was the son of Stephen and Caroline Winter, deceased, and was born at Hollidaysburg on August 16, 1857. He came to this city when a young man with his parents and had since resided here. For a number of years he resided at the Merchants' hotel and more recently at the St. Lawrence. He was a member of the Altoona lodge of Elks and by those who shared his acquaintance was esteemed and respected. He is survived alone by one brother, John H. Winter, the well known tobacconist at Eleventh avenue and Sixteenth street, and also president of the Blair County Game, Fish and Forestry association. The funeral arrangements will be announced later. Altoona Tribune, Saturday, January 4, 1919, page 9 FUNERAL NOTICE.
