Winters, Formerly of This City, Meets with Sudden Death in Dayton, O. Mr. George F. Winters, a former resident of Altoona, was killed in Dayton, O., Saturday evening. Relations of the deceased living here received the news yesterday morning in the shape of a brief telegram which gave no particulars. Mr. Winters was employed at the Barney & Smith car works, in Dayton, O., and it is believed that he was killed while at work. Deceased was born in Altoona, March 26, 1866, and resided here until a few years ago, when he went to Dayton. One sister, Mrs. Eliza Higgins, and two brothers, John H. and William A., all of this city, survive. He was a member of Winnebago tribe, Improved Order of Red Men, of Altoona. The brothers of the deceased left on St. Louis express last night and will bring the body to the city. The remains will be taken to the undertaking house of Hickey & O'Neill, from which the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 (?) o'clock. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
