SIGMUND DUANE WIRTH
September 7, 1973	

Of Dawn Mar St. Lenker Manor, Harrisburg, died yesterday Sept 7, 1973 in 
Community General Hospital, Harrisburg, where he was admitted Monday night 
after suffering a heart attack.  Cpl. Wirth was a member of the State Police, 
having been assigned for the past 26 years to the governors' office security 
force at the Capital.  He was born Sept. 22, 1916 in Altoona, a son of Conrad 
and Charlotte (McCartney) Wirth.  Surviving are his wife, Margaret, two 
daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Berges of Palmyra, N. Y., and Carolyn N., at home, a 
granddaughter and a brother, Conrad J. of Baltimore, MD.  Col. Wirth was a 
member of Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, have served on 
the administrative board and finance committee, Hershey Sunshine Bible Class, 
Mountain Lodge 281, F&AM, Altoona:  Harrisburg Scottish Rite bodies, Zembo 
Shrine Temple, Harrisburg;  Forest 43, Tall Cedars of Lebanon;  Harrisburg 
Executive Club and the Eagles.  Friends will be received in the church Friday.
