Things Briefly Told.

  Emanuel Wise, father of Mr. J. Cloyd Wise, of this city, died 
suddenly at his home in Tuscarora township, Juniata county, on Tuesday, 
aged 53 years and 10 months.  He was one of the best tenor drummers in 
the State, and during the late war was a member of the Forty-fourth 
Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers.
    "The muffled drum's sad roll has beat
     The soldier's last tattoo."
