He was born September 15, 1919 in Thomastown, a son of Steve and Lydia (Zapatha) Wisnieski. On July 19, 1948 in Huntingdon he married Mary Anna Brenneman. She died January 18, 2003. Surviving is a niece Tina L. Calderwood who was raised in the home, a sister Helen Heyman, Mansfield, Missouri, two nieces Shelly L. Halloran of Tyrone and Amy Jo Hoff of Thomastown and three great-nephews, Shawn Michael Holloran and Wyatt and Corey Hoff. He was preceded in death by a niece Judith Calderwood Hollen who was raised in the home, a sister Cecelia and two brothers, Edward and Robert. Mr. Wisnieski retired in 1963 from Pennsylvania Railroad, Juniata as a trackman following 17 years service. He was a member of the Grazierville United Methodist Church and the Anderson-Denny VFW, Tyrone. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 818th Engineer Battalion in Europe and earned five bronze stars. Johnny enjoyed his church, his dog Jack, animals and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Michelle Somerville officiating. Burial will be at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received today at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Grazierville United Methodist Church or to the Central Pa.
