Wissinger, 82, Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Broad Avenue Extension, died Saturday morning, Dec 23, 1995, at Homewood, following an extended illness. He was born April 11, 1913 in Altoona, the son of Clarence A. and Laura E. (Lord) Wissinger. Mr. Wissinger served as a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed organic gardening. Surviving are two brothers: Ernest E. of Altoona and Francis H. in California; two sisters: Martha L. Benden of Bellmeade Manor Home and Janet Worley of Louisville, Ky. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Broad Avenue. WISSINGER - Services for George A. Wissinger, formerly of Broad Avenue Extension, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Alto-Reste Chapel, Altoona, by the Rev. Scott Custead. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., Broad Avenue. Mr. Wissinger was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth.
