WOLFE David Henry Wolfe, an aged and almost life long resident of this place died at the home of his son, Elmer E. Wolfe, of South Market street, on Thursday night of last week at 10:25 o'clock. Death was due to the infirmities of advanced age, he being confined to his bed for the past six months. David Wolfe was a native of Franklin county, having been born at Chambersburg January 8, 1834, and was past 88 years of age. He came to Martinsburg when a young man and has been a resident of the town for more than sixty five years. In his active days Mr. Wolfe followed cabinet making as an occupation and was a skilled workman. December 18, 1860, he was united in marriage with Matilda Brumbaugh, of this place, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Elmer at whose home he died, and one grandson, Edwin Wolfe. Mr. Wolfe was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and one of the oldest members of Lodge at this place. He was also a member of the Reformed church since early in life. Funeral services were held at the home of the son Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. L. G. Beers. Interment in Spring Hope cemetery. Martinsburg Herald, July 28, 1922
