The many friends of Mr. John Woodburn in this city learn with regret of the death of his wife, Jennie, at Carrick, near Pittsburg, Saturday morning. Mr. Woodburn and family were residents of Altoona for many years, removing to Pittsburg about seven years ago. Mrs. Woodburn had been ailing and had been visiting her father, Mr. Wilts, at St. Augustine, Cambria county, until about three weeks ago, when she returned to her home. Her death, though not unexpected, was a shock to all. Deceased was aged about 45 years and is survived by her husband and seven children, also by several brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Catholic church and as a friend and neighbor was highly esteemed. Her stricken family has the sympathy of all. The remains were brought to this city last evening and conveyed to the home of her sister, Mrs. Silas McGough, 11 Washington avenue, from which place the funeral will take place this morning at 8.30 o'clock. Services will be conducted in St. John's church; interment in St. John's cemetery. Because of the long absence from Altoona of Mr. Woodburn, the friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Morning Tribune, Monday, November 13, 1899
