Woodring, age 89, of 1457 North Avenue, Tyrone, and a guest of Moran's Home, Bellwood died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at 4:30 a.m. at the home. He was born September 24, 1914 in Tyrone, the son of J. Clark and Margaret Thompson Woodring and on April 15, 1937 was married by Reverend Snyder to Anna Louise Shively who preceded him in death February 28, 1990. He is survived by one daughter Marsha, wife of James Thomas of Wexford; a daughter-in-law Joan Woodring of Tyrone, seven grandsons - Jeffrey, Mark, Thomas, Michael, Jason, Gene and Anthony and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Phemmie Wolf, a guest at Bellmeade Manor and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Thomas. He was a long time faithful member of the Northwood Baptist Chapel and participated in many church activities. He was a lifetime member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company and the Tyrone Sportsmen. He love the Lord and was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He always maintained a very active involvement in Tyrone Area High School athletics. He retired in 1977 from Westvaco as a millwright. Funeral service for Mr. Woodring will be held Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Tim Tangen officiating. Interment will be made in Blair Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Northwood Baptist Chapel, 402 Hancock Street, Northwood, Tyrone, PA 16686.
