"Frank" Woodring, 73 of Altoona formerly of Bellwood died Friday, January 11, 2008 at his home. He was born in Tyrone on December 1, 1934, a son of the late General Franklin and Sara (Emery) Woodring. He married Delphine L. Haslam on May 5, 1958 in Philadelphia. Surviving are his wife; daughter: Rose-Ellen M. Balasco and husband, Don of Altoona; sons: Donald D. and wife Sharon of Pipersville, Bruce L. and wife Lori of Claysburg, and Frank E. and wife Hannah of Sellersville; grandchildren: Brandi Lynn, Bruce Lee, Danielle Ann, Jason David, Sara Christine and Amber Woodring, Sharon Rose Balasco and fiance Duke McCaulley, and Lisa Marie Balasco; great grandchildren: Cameron and Conner McCaulley; brothers: Robert of North Carolina and Fredrick of Ohio; aunt: Laura Williams. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Crippen. Frank retired as an assembler at C-Cor Electronics, Tipton. He served in the Air Force and Army Reserves. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata where he was active with the Men in Mission Bible Class and Prayer Breakfast. Frank was president of the Resident's Council of Blair Towers, Altoona. Frank enjoyed traveling, vacationing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and family gatherings. Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wed., Jan. 16, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N. 6th St., Juniata. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wed., Jan. 16 at the church with Rev. Betty Landis officiating. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory may be made to Home Nursing Hospice, American Cancer Society Blair County Unit or Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata. Arrangements by Jon C.
