Woods Lost His Life at Pitcairn Yesterday. For some time past Mr. Harry D. Woods, son of Mr. J. H. Woods, of 212 Chestnut avenue, and well known and popular in this city, had been working as a yard brakeman at Pitcairn. Yesterday morning he was at work, as usual. At 10.37 o'clock his lifeless remains were picked up by fellow employes. He had fallen from a draft of cars and was run over and instantly killed. The deceased was 27 years of age and is survived by a wife and three children. His mother is dead, but his father is still living here, at the number above mentioned, being employed as a watchman by the railroad company. One sister of the deceased also survives - Mrs. Samuel Mayne, of Martinsburg. Her husband left last night for Pitcairn to make arrangements for the funeral. The father left yesterday afternoon for the same place. Altoona Times, Friday, July 24, 1903
