G, DIES IN FRANCE A telegram was received yesterday from the war department by Mrs. Wilbur Lewis of Tyrone, announcing the death of Nathan Woomer, aged 27 years, a member of Company G, 110th infantry on July 30. The last word received by her from the young man was a letter dated July 17, and which reached here Aug. 12. Woomer was born at Mountain Orchard, near Tyrone, March 22, 1891, the son of Nathan (deceased) and Lucinda Williams Woomer. He spent most of his life in the vicinity of Tyrone but for two years prior to his enlistment here, in 1917, he was employed in the P.R.R. transfer in Altoona. Besides his mother and sister, he is survived by three brothers, George at home, Robert of Vail and Arthur of Tyrone. Altoona Times, Friday Morning, October 4, 1918
