All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ ROBERT YINGLING, POPLAR RUN LAD, IS DROWNED While playing along Poplar Run, which flows past the home, little Robert Yingling, by some means lost his footing and fell into the water, his lifeless body being found about 7 o'clock Monday evening about two miles down the stream from the home. The little fellow had just been put to sleep by his mother but he awoke and slipped out with the other children and while playing in the creek was caught in the current of the swollen stream and swept away before anyone could catch him. The tragedy happened about 2 o'clock and it was five hours later before the body was found. He is the son of David and Maud Yingling of Puzzletown, and besides his parents is survived by a sister and three brothers, all at home. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, April 17, 1918 POPLAR RUN YINGLING FUNERAL The remains of little Robert, two-year-old son of Merchant and Mrs. D. F. Yingling, were interred in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery at Newry on Wednesday morning, following services in St. Patrick's church. Besides his parents he is survived by one sister and three brothers: Ralph, Lester, Herman and Olene, all at home.
