YON

  Mrs. Rachel A. Yon, died on Friday evening at 7 o'clock at her home, 
2309 Seventh avenue, death being caused by pneumonia.  She was the 
widow of Crawford Yon and was born in Indiana county, April 19, 1856, 
and was a member of the First Lutheran church, Independence council, 
No. 8, D. of A., and Isabel council, No. 302, Daughters of Rebekah.  
The following children survive: J. William Yon of Massillon, O., Samuel 
H., Mrs. Nettie Ebersole and Mrs. Veda Pollard, all of Altoona.  Eight 
grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive with one brother, 
Samuel Hazlett, and one sister, Mrs. Jane Wissinger, both of this city.  
Private funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2.30, followed 
by interment in Oak Ridge cemetery.
