Young, a well known citizen of this place, died on Friday night last, after a lingering illness. The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, February 11, 1874 James Q. Young - An old resident of our town, one who was well and widely known throughout this and adjoining counties-for a long period a locomotive engineer, on the old Portage, and also on the Pa. Central, paid the debt we all owe to nature, and "passed those great gates which swing backward into eternity." He was cut off in the prime of his life aged 43 years, leaving two orphan daughters and a large circle of mourning friends. James Q. Young died in this place, Friday the 6th inst., and was buried in the Lutheran cemetery on the following Sunday. The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, February 18, 1874
