We are indebted to the Daily Herald for the following: Mrs. Anna Margaretta Zeilinger died at her home on North Main street this afternoon at 2.15 o'clock, of a complication of diseases, pneumonia being the immediate cause of death. The deceased lady, who was one of Tyrone's first residents, was born near Eslach's Mills, Bavaria, July 5, 1822, her age therefore at the time of demise being 68 years, 8 months and 25 days. The early years of her life were spent in her native land. In 1848, in company with her betrothed husband, she came to America, and at Waterstreet, on January 1, 1848, George Zeillinger and the subject of this sketch were united in marriage. They resided at first at Alexandria, then at Spruce Creek and finally in the early fifties they came to this place, then a struggling village, which they had the pleasure of seeing grow into a thriving town. Much of the early improvements made to this place are owing to the industry of Mr. and Mrs. Zeillinger. Where the Ward house now stands there was nothing but a swamp at the time they came to Tyrone. The deceased lady was the only child of her parents and is only survived by two daughters and two sons, two children having preceded her to the grave. The children are John and Philip Zeilinger, Mrs. Mary Swoope, wife of William Swoope, deceased, and Mrs. Thomas L. Jebbs, all being residents of this place. Mr. George Zeilinger, husband of the deceased, died on July 9, 1888. She was a very consistent member of the German English Lutheran church, and let us hope she is now at rest.
