He was born Jan. 6, 1875, the youngest son of John H. and Marie (Hickman) Ziegler of Wolf's Chapel, near Aaronsburg, Centre county, and was the husband of Gertrude (Wieland) Ziegler of Linden Hall. A twin sister died at the age of 5 years. Surviving are his wife, one son, Lewis W. of Ridgway, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Neff of Centre Hall; a brother, William F. of Cape May Courthouse, N.J.; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ziegler came to Altoona in 1899 and was continuously employed with the Pennsylvania railroad ever since. He was one of the oldest members of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church, where he served as an elder and deacon and a member of the church consistory. He also held membership in the Mutual Benefit association, Modern Woodmen of American and the P.R.R. Relief. Friends will be received at the Gilden-Barton funeral home after noon tomorrow. ZIEGLER - Funeral services for John Frederick Ziegler of 535 Fifty-fourth street, will be held Saturday afternoon at 1.30 from the Gilden-Barton funeral home in charge of Rev. Robert Dillard.
