She was born August 10, 1923 at Northwood, Tyrone, a daughter of Alonza T. and Annabelle (Tennis) Bennett. She was married June 21, 1941 at Bellwood to Elmer A. Zimmerman, Sr. who died April 11, 1994. She is survived by a son and three daughters, Elmer A. Zimmerman, Jr. and his wife Beverly of West Milford, N.J., Rev. Peggy J. Bonsell and her husband Gary of Bellwood, Brenda K. Zimmerman of York and Shelley A. MacDonald and her husband William of York; seven grandchildren: Mark Zimmerman, Beth Zimmerman, Karl Bonsell, Adam Bonsell, Andrew Shultzaberger, Tyffanny Shultzaberger and Heather MacDonald. She was the youngest and last of her immediate family being preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was a former member of the Northwood Baptist Chapel, Christ United Methodist Church, Altoona Broad Ave. Methodist Church and the Warriors Mark Methodist Church. She had attended the Tyrone Schools, was a former Gray Lady at Tyrone Hospital, a clerk at the Sakmar Stores in Tyrone and Bellwood. She was a part-time worker at Baney's Flowers in Tyrone and she volunteered at Mt. Gilead Camp in the Poconos. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Timothy Tangen officiating. Interment will follow at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. and one hour before the service Wednesday.
