Long Illness is Fatal to Ellis Zimmers

Ellis S. Zimmers, 80, of 2511 Oak avenue, died at 5.07 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon in the Saylor nursing home after having been in failing health 
since last August. His wife, Mrs. Jennie Zimmers, died Jan. 17.

Mr. Zimmers was born in Bedford county Aug. 4, 1871, a son of George and Anna 
(May) Zimmers, but came to Altoona as a young man, being employer for some 
years in the Altoona works car shops. Subsequently he was employed for a 
number of years by the G.A. Zimmers Lumber company, retiring some years ago.

Surviving are one son and one daughter, Miss Elsie A. Zimmers, at the home, 
and Harold E. of the city; two grandchildren, Donald and Lelia Ann Zimmers; 
two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Blanch Ritchey of Akron, O.

Mr. Zimmers was a member and a past elder of the Grace Evangelical and 
Reformed church.

Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
