This is an excess of three deaths over the mortalities in 1883, there having been forty-eight cases in that year. The following record of deaths in 1884 has been kindly furnished by Mr. S. M. Nowlin, to whom the HERALD is indebted for similar favors on previous occasions. January 18, Charles Heverly, of apoplexy, aged 46 years, 2 months, 12 days. January 21, Mrs. Bertha E., wife of J. B. Williams, of consumption, aged 36 years, 9 months, 22 days. February 2, an infant child of Cora Wertz. February 16, daughter of John Wingate, of cholera infantum, aged 1 year and 8 months. February 20, Mrs. Catheran Branstetter, of apoplexy, aged 73 years, 5 months, 12 days. February 25, daughter William Difflo, aged 2 years, 5 months. March 7, child of Samuel Duff, aged 1 year, 3 months. March 13, Asbury J. Bell, pulmonary disease, aged 22 years, 1 month, 7 days. Was son of Maj. Bell, died at Pittsburg and buried at Tyrone. March 17, Mrs. Caroline G., wife of E. L. Study, dec'd, consumption, aged 60 years, 5 months, 3 days. March 22, infant child James Wighaman. March 23, child of E. F. Wood, aged 5 months. March 25, child of John Thomas, colored. April 23, wife of John Kinch, of consumption, aged 66 years. April 23, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, who had been living with S. Berlin, of erysipelas, aged 49 years. April 25, Mrs. Mary Miles, at home of her son-in-law, A. M. Graffius, aged 75 years, 9 months, 18 days. April 25, Mrs. Frances Kolbenschlag, at home of her son William, from injuries received by falling downstairs, aged 81 years, 2 days. May 5, Charles Laughlin, at home of Mrs. Mary Henderson, of dropsy, aged 52 years. April 14, Peter Weaver, aged 72 years, 9 months. June 19, William Riddle, of consumption, aged 52 years, 1 month, 13 days. June 26, wife of John Lytle, of consumption, aged about 22 years. June 26, infant child of Jacob Coup. July 5, wife of Robert Reninger, of consumption, aged 22 years. July 7, at Ward House, C. P. Mandeville, a traveling agent of Newark, N.J. July 14, Jennie, daughter of George R. Andrews, of consumption, aged 39 years, 2 months, 13 days. Nov. 18, Peter Fry, unintentionally shot while hunting on Allegheny mountain, aged 60 years. Nov. 19, Ellie, daughter of J. B. Cox, of croup, aged 2 years, 6 months. November 20, a child of Harry Weaver, of diphtheria. December 5, Valentine Spigelmoyer, of dropsy, aged 67 years, 9 months, 2 days. December 13, Anna Mary, wife of H. C. Christine, of pyemia, aged 24 years, 4 months, 6 days. December 16, infant daughter of J. B. Cox. December 18, a little daughter of D. P. Ray. [Hay?] December 21, daughter of Philip Sidlinger, of membraneous croup, aged 2 years. Of the number, 7 belonged to the M. E. Church, 2 to the Presbyterian, 2 to the Catholic, 1 to the United Brethren, and 1 to the Disciples.
