So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still will lead me on o'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till The night is gone; And with the morn those angel-faces smile, Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile. The necrology of 1933 closes with two sudden deaths, occurring a few hours apart on the 30th day of December when Isaac B. McNeal and Bobby Rutledge passed quickly out of this life. Mr. McNeal died suddenly in the East Altoona shops while performing his usual work around an engine. Bobby Rutledge was coasting in his little cutter, a Christmas gift, carried him between the wheels of a heavy coal truck. Neither one spoke a word after he were stricken down, thus carrying out the saying often heard in the midst of life we are in death. In the twelve months that have just ended one hundred and three persons have passed into the great beyond from Tyrone borough, the month of January recording the largest number. Arteriosclerosis called away twelve persons while five met accidental deaths. Cancer caused the demise of five. Fifteen persons between the ages of seventy and seventy-five were called home while three between ninety and ninety-five and one between ninety-five and one hundred slipped out of this life during the year just passed into history. In years past the death list of children less than one year, far exceeded any of the other ages, but the past twelve months only three infants died. It will be noticed that only nineteen persons between the ages of one year and fifty years answered the call, the greater number being from fifty to ninety years. During the past year several very sad tragedies occurred in the borough and in the immediate vicinity, one of the most distressing being at Grazierville when the lives of two young women were suddenly taken away.
