Allen and Miss Annie Pearl Ormes, both of Tyrone, were married on Thursday evening at 8 o'clock, in the Bethony African Methodist church, at Tyrone, Rev. J. E. Morris officiating. The attendants were Miss Ora Jones and D. T. Kennedy, jr. The flower girls were Misses Hazel Brown and Laura Crampton, and the bridesmaids, Misses Minnie Johnston, of Somerset, and Mamie Lancaster, of Tyrone. The bride was given away by her step-father, Simon D. Thomas. Guests were present from Bellefonte, Washington, Altoona, Philipsburg, Somerset, Curwensville, Harrisburg, Huntingdon and Bellwood. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Simon D. Thomas, 1040 North Washington avenue. On St. Louis express, at 10.45, Mr. and Mrs. Allen departed on a honeymoon trip, which will include Pittsburg, Somerset and other places. Altoona Times, Monday, July 27, 1903
