Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, February 28, 1891 HOLLIDAYSBURG HAPPENINGS. A new and happy era in life will be commenced by two of our young society people this evening, at the Baptist church, when the nuptial ceremony will be performed for Mr. W. Lovell Baldrige and Miss Ione B. Condron. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, March 10, 1891 HOLLIDAYSBURG HAPPENINGS. The First Baptist church was the scene of a brilliant and fashionable wedding last evening at 8 o'clock. The air in the church was ladened with sweet and aromatic odors and the altar was a perfect bower of beauty, formed by potted and cut palms, Berunda lilies, hyacinths, amorrilas, southern palms, palm donas and wild smilax - the skillful and artistic work of Florist H. Q. James, of Altoona. The high contracting parties were Miss Ione B., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angus B. Condron, and Mr. W. Lovell, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Baldrige. The bride was attended by the following bridesmaids: Miss Blanche Condron, sister of the bride; Miss Mary Baldrige, sister of the groom; Misses Letitia Landis, Sara Gardner, Marie Porter, Tillie Caldwell, Nannie Smith, Jessie Johnston and Martha Denniston. The groomsman was Mr. Frank P. McFarland, of Frugality. The following gentlemen officiated as ushers: Messrs. William Wigton, William Kinkead, Samuel Wigton and David McMurtrie, of Altoona; James Gardner, J. Vance Roller, John K. McLanahan, jr., and Isaac Irwin, of Hollidaysburg. The fair bride was attired in a gown of white China silk, cut Princess fashion in the back with a high collar and cut slightly low in the neck in front, the front drapery being in the Grecian style. The gown was trimmed with rose trimming and white silk cord. She carried a magnificent bunch of bride roses in her hand and her hair was decorated with orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were clad in dresses of thin white material, with waist ribbons of pink, tied behind in a butterfly bow with long ends. They carried bunches of white carnations tied loosely with pink ribbons. The gentlemen wore the conventional evening dress. To the inspiring strains of the Lohengrin march, played on the pipe organ by Professor H. F. Faber, of Altoona, the wedding party slowly marched up the centre aisle to the altar, where the marriage vows were repeated before the Rev. Owen James. Mendelssohn's wedding march filled the church with a flood of melody as the bride and groom, accompanied by their attendants, departed. Immediately following this felicitous ceremony a reception was had at the home of the bride, which was attended by over one hundred guests. Many useful and handsome presents were given the young couple. On the 10.15 o'clock train last night they departed on a bridal tour to Philadelphia and New York. The bride is a young lady of attractive person and gifted with many sweet and amiable qualities, while the man of her choice owns a high character and holds the responsible position of secretary and treasurer of the Juniata Limestone company. The TRIBUNE joins their army of friends in wishing them all happiness and joy without alloy in their future home at Carlim. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, March 11, 1891
