William Barbour and Miss Irene L. Sears were united in marriage by the bride's father, Rev. S. W. Sears, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Methodist church, at the parsonage, 405 Fifth avenue. The ceremony too place at 6:30 o'clock last evening. Only the immediate friends and relatives of the contracting parties were present. A wedding supper was served. The happy couple left for a wedding tour to Washington, D.C., on Philadelphia express. Their friends accompanied them to the depot and showered them with rice and threw the proverbial old shoe after them as they boarded the train. After a week's sightseeing the newly wedded couple will go to Chambersburg, where the groom is a leading photographer, and where they will reside. A reception will be given next Tuesday evening at the groom's home. Mrs. Barbour received many elegant presents. Among the guests at the wedding last night were Mrs. Philip Hess, Miss Minerva Smith and Miss Grace Krider, of Harrisburg; James Black, son of Rev. Harper Black, the First Methodist church, of Lock Haven; A. J. McCahan, teller of the First National bank of Huntingdon, and wife, and Mrs. William H. Sears, Murray Sears and Miss Clara McCahan, of Huntingdon. March 25, 1896 clipping
