Shoemaker, on West Allegheny street, at high noon Thursday, in the presence of a number of invited guests, Miss Jennie R. Shoemaker and Mr. George S. Blatchford, of Hopewell, Bedford county, were united in marriage by Rev. J. R. Sansom, of the Presbyterian church. The guests were of the immediate relatives and intimate friends, presenting a wedding scene of joy and beauty. Miss Jennie, the bride, is the eldest daughter of J. C. and Belle Shoemaker and is a young lady of many adornments and chaste, noble life, and gentle in manners and kind in disposition. She is a perfect lady and will make a good wife in its widest signification. Mr. Blatchford is most certainly to be congratulated upon his choice. The groom is a young man full of vim and energy, engaged in the general mercantile business at Hopewell and Broad Top City, at which latter place the wedded party will make their home. The presents received were numerous and costly. After an afternoon pleasantly spent with friends, the bridal party took the evening train for Philadelphia, where they will remain several days.
