Brown, daughter of L. R. Brown of Martinsburg, W. Va., and Mr. Ross Crawford, son of John W. Burket of Sinking valley, were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 20, at 3 o'clock with Rev. W. S. Long, pastor of the First Church of the Brethren, Altoona, officiating. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's cousins, Mr. And Mrs. H. E. Maloy of Sinking valley, with whom she has resided since childhood. Eighty guests were present. Preceding the ceremony a violin number was presented by Harry Malloy, jr., accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Hastings, who also played the wedding march from Lohengrin. The bride was given in marriage by H. E. Maloy. She was attired in a brown velvet afternoon gown with hat to match and carried yellow chrysanthemums. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Ellen Brown of Lincoln, Va. Mr. Burket was attended by his cousin, William Harnish of Harrisburg. Following the ceremony, refreshments were served and the couple left on an extended motor trip through southern states. Mrs. Burket is a graduate of the Altoona High school and Indiana State Teachers college. For a number of years, she has been a teacher in the Tyrone and Independence township schools. Mr. Burket is a graduate of Wyoming seminary. They will reside on the Burket homestead in Sinking valley. Among the guests attending the affair were: Mr. And Mrs. L. R.
