JOHN CHIRDON [photo] Wed In Rites At St. Leo's Miss Anne Faith Spearing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Spearing of 1009 Twenty-second street, and Kenneth Francis Chirdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chirdon of Coupon, were united in marriage Thursday morning, June 10, in St. Leo's Catholic church. Rev. Father John P. Manning officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride wore a lovely colonial gown of white slipper satin with a high rounded neckline and the long tapered sleeves edged with Alencon lace. Her lace- edged fingertip veil fell from a lace bonnet adorned with white sweet peas and California orange blossoms. She carried a white satin prayer book covered with white carnations with sweet pea showers. Miss Winifred Spearing, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid and wore a baby pink faille taffeta colonial gown with a large white picturesque hat with baby blue streamers and mitts to match. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations with pink, white and blue streamers. James Graham, nephew of the bridegroom, performed the duties as best man. The ushers were Riching [sic] Spearing, brother of the bride, and Patrick Reagan, friends of the bride. The bride's mother chose a navy blue dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pink car nations. The mother of the bridegroom was attired in a pale green dress with matching accessories and also a pink carnation corsage. The wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride for the immediate families. The bride is a graduate of Altoona High school and Mount Aloysius college and is the commercial teacher at Beaverdale High school. The bridegroom is a graduate of Gallitzin High school, a veteran of World war II and a business administration student at St. Francis college. After a wedding trip through Buffalo, the couple will reside in Cleveland, O., where the bridegroom will resume his studies at the John Carroll college.
