Hostler, 510 North First street, Bellwood, became the bride of William Franklin DeArmitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeArmitt of Tyrone, R.D. 3, Thursday evening, July 15, at 7.30 o'clock in the Bellwood First Methodist church. Rev. E. Z. Utts, pastor of the church, performed the double-ring candlelight ceremony. The church was decorated with palms and candelabra. Miss Jean Thomas, friend of the bride, played a 15-minute organ recital before the ceremony and Mrs. Rebecca Cunningham, also a friend of the bride, sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly." During the organ recital the candles in the church windows were lighted by Miss Joyce Hostler, sister of the bride, and Miss Dorothy DeArmitt, sister of the bridegroom. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white pique dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses and baby's breath. The maid of honor was Miss Colleen Stimmell of Pinecroft, attired in pink chambray with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and baby's breath. Fred Evans of Tyrone was best man. The ushers were Stanley Hostler, uncle of the bride, and Clarence E. Hostler, the bride's brother. The bride's mother wore a black and white print with white accessories and the mother of the bride- groom a black suit. The bride's gift to her attendant was a set of rhinestone earrings and pin. The bridegroom gave neckties to his best man and ushers. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the social hall of the church. Seventy-five persons were present from Altoona, Tyrone, Reading, Pittsburgh and Johnstown. The couple then left for a wedding trip to Williamsport. The bride was graduated from Bellwood-Antis High school in 1945 and is now employed as a secretary by the Dinges Transfer company, Juniata. The bridegroom graduated from Bellwood-Antis High school and served two years with the navy. He is employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company, Mr. and Mrs. DeArmitt will live at 713 Fifth avenue, Juniata. Altoona Mirror, Monday, August 9, 1948, page 14
