Worthy Sinking Valley Couple Joined in the Nuptial Bonds. A quiet but auspicious wedding was celebrated at noon yesterday at the cheerful home of Grandma Stalker in Sinking Valley, when Miss Martha M. Orr became the wife of Frank E. Fleck. The company present numbered about thirty, and the notable event in the lives of this esteemed young couple was quite unostentatious, but was none the less a bright and happy occasion. The marriage was solemnized by Rev. L. M. Lewis, of Arch Spring, assisted by Rev. J. C. Kelly, of Williamsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Orr, the former a brother of the bride, were the attendants upon the principals in the ceremony. Of course a large and inviting repast, such as always characterizes a Sinking Valley household, was one of attractive features of the occasion. The young couple were showered with the heartiest congratulations and good wishes of their admiring friends. The bride is one of Sinking Valley's most amiable and respected young ladies, one who will be a loving, tender helpmeet. The groom is a worthy and esteemed young man, of genial disposition and steady industry and high character. He is a son of Captain Thomas M. Fleck, of Sinking Valley, and has for many years been a member of Sheridan Troop in which he holds the rank of sergeant. Serving with the troop throughout the Spanish-American war, he proved abundantly his good soldierly qualities. Mr. and Mrs. Fleck are spending their honeymoon in Washington, D.C. and they will visit other points of interest in the east and south before returning home. The Herald joins in cordial and sincere good wishes. Tyrone Daily Herald, Thursday, March 15, 1900
