GARVER Engagement Announced by Dr. and Mrs. W. F. Beck at Delightful Function Dr. and Mrs. W. Frank Beck, of Craigsmere, near Lakemont, announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Craig Beck, to Russell Bare Garver, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Garver, at a luncheon given at the Cricket field club house yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Beautiful decorations in a color scheme of pink and white were used and the affair was a most delightful function. The announcement was made at the close of the luncheon, when little Miss Margaret Anderson produced a pink knitting bag from which she passed a ball of yarn and needles to each guest. When the yarn was unwound a proclamation was found at the center of each ball which announced the engagement in a clever manner. This proclamation follows: Know ye all, whereas, Russel, son of the house of Garver, and Elizabeth, daughter of the house of Beck, having reached years of discretion and understanding, seek admission into the state of matrimony. I, Daniel Cupid, governor of said state, hereby proclaim them candidates for such admission on or after the fourteenth day of June, nineteen hundred and eighteen. Written under my hand and seal. DANIEL CUPID.
