Harkey, of Pittsburg, came to Juniata yesterday to pay a Thanksgiving visit to this parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Harkey, of 213 Sixth avenue and incidentally to attend a wedding in which he will take a prominent part. Announcement has been made of the coming marriage of Mr. Harkey and Miss Valetta Amelia Denny, to be solemnized early tomorrow morning in St. John's pro-cathedral by the Rev. Father Morgan M. Sheedy. The bride elect is a sister of Mrs. C. C. Stevens, of 804 Howard avenue, with whom she has made her home for several years. She is a very charming and efficient young lady who has held the position of chief book-keeper in the Juniata silk mill office during the past five years. Mr. Harkey was formerly a Juniata boy and is now located in Pittsburg as an employe of the Pressed Steel Car company. Harkey, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Harkey, of North Side, Pittsburg, and Miss Valetta Denny, daughter of W. C. Denny, of 2205 West Chestnut avenue, were married with nuptial mass at St. John's pro-cathedral, at 7 o'clock yesterday morning, by the Rev. Father Howard Miller. They were attended by Mr. John Harkey, of Juniata Park, brother of the bridegroom, and Miss Pauline Denny, a sister of the bride. After the wedding a reception and wedding dinner was held at the Colonnade hotel, attended by the families and relatives of the young couple. At 11 o'clock the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to western cities and on their return will reside at the Hampton Court apartments, Pittsburg. Mr. Harkey holds the position of general foreman in the mills of the American Steel and Wire company. His bride had for a number of years been employed as head bookkeeper at the Juniata silk mills, where the office force, headed by Superintendent Robert Brupbacher, held a reception on her retirement Wednesday afternoon, presenting her with a number of beautiful gifts.
