A correspondent writes: A very pleasant society event occurred in Mount Union on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, the occasion being the marriage of Mr. Robert S. Heller, of this city, to Miss Katherine Shaver, of Mount Union, in the presence of a hundred invited guests from the bride's home, Altoona and Huntingdon. Miss Lu Gayton, of Mount Union, served as maid of honor, Mr. Mac. Muthersbaugh, of Renovo, acting as best man for the groom and Mr. John S. Bare, of Huntingdon, giving away the bride. Many handsome and valuable presents were given the bride. Owing to the inconvenience of making railroad connections north and east on a later train, the newly married couple quietly withdrew after receiving the congratulations of the guests, and took mail express en route for Niagara and other northern points, much to the surprise of the majority of the assembled guests and wholly a surprise to a serenading party who appeared shortly afterwards. A couple of weeks will be given to sight seeing and then Mr. and Mrs. Heller expect to "settle down" as residents of Altoona.
