Mr. Howard Hoover and Miss Essie J. Geissinger, both popular young people of this city, were quietly married at 8:30 o'clock last evening at the parsonage of the Second Presbyterian church, by Rev. Henry Howard Stiles. The attendants were Mr. Russell Houck and Miss Mary Geissinger, sister of the bride. The groom is employed as a fireman on the Pittsburg division, and is well spoken of by all who enjoy his acquaintance. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Miles Geissinger, of 1104 Third avenue, and is an accomplished young lady. A reception was tendered the young couple at the bride's home after the ceremony. After congratulations were extended Mr. and Mrs. Hoover left on eastern express for New York, where they will remain for two months or more. On their return they will take up their residence in this city. Altoona Mirror, Thursday, September 7, 1899, page 8
