Mr. Lewis Howard, of this place, formerly of Williamsburg, this county, and Miss Laura Benton, of this place, were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony at 6 p.m. on the 25th inst., at St. Patrick's church, this place, by Rev. J. A. Canevin. The attendants were Mr. William J. C. McCann and Miss Jennie Benton, both of Newry. The groom is a young man of excellent character and is esteemed by all who know him, and he at present is clerking in the store of James McMaster, of this place, where he has been for about five years. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Benton, of this place, and is very highly esteemed by all and one of Newry's best young ladies. We wish the happy couple a pleasant sail over the matrimonial sea of a long and happy life, and above all a safe landing on the heavenly shore.
