Nuptials Held At St. Paul's

  In a lovely candlelight ceremony in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Miss 
Dorothy Confer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Confer of 4015 Fifth 
avenue, became the bride of Robert Eugene Kemmler, jr.. son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Robert E. Kemmler of 999 Thirtieth street, on Saturday evening, June 12. at 
8.30 o'clock. Rev. John L. Barnes officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
  The church was decorated with palms, ferns and baskets of gladioli and 
delphinium. Mrs. A. Boyd Cassidy, church organist, played "0 Promise Me," "On 
Wings of Song" and "At Dawning" prior to the ceremony, and accompanied Inda 
Cummings, soloist, who sang "Because," "From All This World I've Chosen You" 
"The Lord's Prayer."
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory brocaded 
satin with scalloped peplum and neckline, long tapered sleeves, a full skirt 
and a long train. Her veil of Swiss tulle edged in lace fell from a dutch cap 
of lace adorned with seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a white Bible, 
a gift from her mother, with gardenias and satin streamers with sweet peas 
and baby's breath.
  Mrs. Horace M. Harper, jr., was maid of honor wearing a pink satin gown 
with a scalloped neckline, bustle skirt and long mitts. She wore a matching 
hat and carried an old-fashioned bouquet of mixed flowers. Miss Imogene Waltz 
and Miss Janet Salkeld were bridesmaids attired in blue taffeta gowns 
patterned after that of the matron of honor. They wore matching hats and 
carried old-fashioned bouquets of mixed flowers.
  Horace M. Harper, jr, was best man and the ushers were James M. McGraw, 
jr., and William D. Confer.
  The mother of the bride chose a gray dress with pink accessories and a 
corsage of pink roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a black print dress 
with black and white accessories and a corsage of red roses.
  Following the ceremony a reception for 125 guests was held in the social 
room of the church which was trimmed with white wedding bells, white candles 
and cut flowers. The bride presented her attendants with compacts and the 
bridegroom presented the best man and ushers with gold engraved tie clasps. 
The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold cross with a diamond chip.
  The couple left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Ontario, Canada. 
For traveling the bride wore a gown of light tan wool crepe with pink-colored 
accessories. The bride is a graduate of Altoona High school, class of 1945 
and is employed as an operator with the Bell Telephone company. The 
bridegroom is a graduate of Altoona High school, class of 1942 and is a 
veteran of 38 months in the navy. He is employed by the Western Electric 
company.
  The couple will be at home at 1313 Thirteenth street.
  Out-of-town guests were present at the ceremony from Syracuse, N. Y., 
Middletown, N. Y., Conemaugh, Alexandria, Chicago, Ill., Philadelphia, 
Bedford and Asbury Park, N. J.
