CARL KEPHART Couple Wed In Baptist Church Miss Shirley Jane Brua, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin K. Brua of 604 Jones street, Hollidaysburg, became the bride of Carl Dean Kephart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean E. Kephart of 1116 Third avenue, Duncansville, in the First Baptist church of Hollidaysburg on Saturday afternoon, July 24, at 4.30 o'clock. Rev. William Cutler, pastor of the church, officiated at the ceremony assisted by Rev. Norman R. Wagner, pastor of the Hicks Memorial Methodist church of Duncansville. The church was decorated with ferns, candelabra and bouquets of pink and white gladiola. An archway with a large white bell was decorated with small flowers and blue lights. Miss Mildred Heller, soloist, sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly, on the organ by Miss Charlotte Kunzig. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a street-length dress of white crepe with a large white picture hat and white accessories. She carried a white Bible decorated with white ribbons and a white gardenia corsage. Mrs. Naomi Mitchell, sister of the bride, was matron of honor attired in an aqua crepe dress with white accessories and a large white picture hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white mixed flowers. The best man was Rev. Daniel Koon of Duncansville, a cousin of the bridegroom. Ushers were Paul Mitchell and Melvin Benson, both of Duncansville. The mother of the bride wore a navy blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The mother of the bridegroom wore a dress of navy blue with white accessories and a pink carnation corsage. The couple left on a ten-day wedding trip through seven western states and around the Great Lakes. They are residing temporarily at the home of the bridegroom's parents in Duncansville. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kephart are graduates of the Hollidaysburg High school. The bridegroom is an employe of the Hoffman Sealtest dairy in Altoona. Altoona Mirror, Monday, August 9, 1948, page 14
