Kepner, stationed at San Antonio, and Miss Marie A. O'Brian, of 912 Third avenue, were quietly married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic church at 6.40 o'clock yesterday morning, by the Rev. Father Jerome N. Zazzara. The young couple was attended by a brother and sister of the bride, Kathryn A. and Lawrence J. O'Brian. The bride was beautifully gowned and wore a gorgeous corsage bouquet of white roses. Mrs. Frank Hughes, formerly organist at St. Mary's Catholic church, Hollidaysburg, rendered the wedding march, while Mrs. Elsie Morgan Wood sang a beautiful solo. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O'Brian, is one of the best known young ladies of the East Side and is very popular in the younger social set. Lieutenant Kepner, who resided in this city before the war broke out, was employed as a machinist. He was among the first men from Altoona to enlist after the declaration of war and from the Columbus barracks, he was sent to Camp Travis, San Antonio, and within a short time was promoted to first lieutenant. Immediately following the ceremony the newlyweds left on a short wedding journey. Upon their return the bride will remain with her parents and the lieutenant will return to his command. He expects to leave for France in the very near future. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, April 27, 1918
