At St. John's Catholic church, by Morgan M. Sheedy, Miss Mary Carr was united in marriage to Mr. David E. Lafferty on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. The bride was dressed in bronze silks. After the marriage the bridal party assembled at the residence of John Carr on Eleventh avenue, at which place the evening was spent in innocent amusement. The bride and groom received some handsome presents, among which were chamber sets, silver ice pitchers, napkin rings, butter knives, spoons, knives, forks, castors, card receivers, gold watch and chain, glass ware, cake stands, pitchers, glasses, goblets, cream pitchers and other articles too numerous to mention. The bridal party departed on their wedding tour, for the east, at 12 o'clock midnight. We have to acknowledge the receipt of a handsome cake for which we express our heartfelt thanks.
