The Groom Thought the Bride Cheap at $49. The inhabitants of Little Italy, on Ninth avenue, celebrated a marriage yesterday according to the rites of their mother country. At 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon James Marssaro and Donatto Roboene were married at St. Mark's Catholic church by Father N. J. O'Reiley. After the ceremony they returned to a house at 935 Ninth avenue, where a reception was tendered them by their countrymen. There were sixty or more in attendance, and they passed the evening in dancing, singing, etc. The custom of the Italians is for the groom to buy the bride, and this is what Marssaro did, having gladly paid Nick Roboene $49 for his sister.
